Hey all just subscribed to the SBC(Att) DSL ELITE and speed has not increased, i logged into my modem and it says my downstream is 6Mbps but ran several speed tests and getting same results. I have checked for viruses/spyware and clean as needed daily but speed just stays the same. Running the 2wire modem on a wireless connection...but have tried w/ a network cable connected and achieved same results. Here is my speed test:
::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Download Connection is:: 307 Kbps about 0.31 Mbps (tested with 386 kB)
Download Speed is:: 37 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net/ (Server 2)
Test Time:: 2006/06/16 - 9:38pm
Bottom Line:: 5X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 27.68 sec
Tested from a 386 kB file and took 10.312 seconds to complete
Download Diagnosis:: May need help : running at only 13.07 % of your hosts average (ameritech.net)
D-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-X46S08APW
User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4

Would appreciate any help if possible, thanks

The modem itself is a router its all built into one. Ive tried w/ wireless connection to it and straight cable connection w/ same results.

o i see,  try doing a hard reset and check your results. Have you tweaked your connection?

I tried doing a reset of the modem just now, i have tried in the past but didnt do anything, it brought me up a little but still not to where it should be:
::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Download Connection is:: 1290 Kbps about 1.29 Mbps (tested with 748 kB)
Download Speed is:: 157 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net/ (Server 1)
Test Time:: 2006/06/16 - 8:34pm
Bottom Line:: 22X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 6.52 sec
Tested from a 748 kB file and took 4.75 seconds to complete
Download Diagnosis:: May need help : running at only 58.58 % of your hosts average (ameritech.net)
D-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-L6X0J219I

Also, I have tried tweaking w/o any results. I've tried taking down the firewall and other little stuff here and there but no results have been noticed. I have yet to call SBC because it has been about 2 weeks since I've recieved the "NEW" faster service but i am still right where I was before i upgraded.

Yeah definetely I will call them, I'm not really concerned with getting the MAXIMUM amount but I would appreciate being higher than my service that was 20 bucks cheaper heh
