I have just been bitten by "Java/Byte Verify" and AVG identified, but will not remove. Help

do you have Sun's java , or Microsoft's javaVM? If you have sun's go to control panel, click on java, click cache and clear. If you have Microsoft's unistall it and download Sun's java.

This seems to have satisified AVG, as it no longer detects it. Google may not be god, but it never hurts.  :haha:

I also downloaded the updates while I was in there.

Well sometimes instead of just waiting for help.. It is best to keep looking while you wait, and quicker.  :mrgreen:
Also I had thrown my entire arsenal of cleanup goodies at it, and it was just laughing at me. That was when I figured it was going to be a booger. AVGs, Windows Defender, Spybot, vcleaner, Yahoo anti- spy,to no avail. Really did not want to reformat!  :angry4:
