Anyone here tweaked the premium package offered from Timewarner Cable? If so, what settings did you use. Appreciate any suggestions and thanks.

Thanks VAN!

Speedy is correct, at this moment its 8000/512

I have downloaded Cablenut and will wait for your reply.

FYI, I am currently using your cable/dsl 6000/384 settings. The above test results are with that setting.

Thanks to everyone for their help and the welcome!

Van.. WOW.. look at those downloads on that file :)

Thanks very much for the file.. No real change, still running about 6.9/.5 testmy results.

Considering all of the variables when uploading and downloading, I can say that I am happy. If you have any other ideas on how to increase my speeds, let me know. Thank you for your time.

Made the changes and got this: :) The download was consistantly getting over 7 Mbps which was an improvement. On all tests. Upload is still written in stone. :) Whatever you ask me to change, it did make a change.. Anymore room for improvment? Thanks..

hey again OSU_POKES :)

do you use a router?

if so, is it wireless and what brand/model is it?

also try bypassing it and connect direct to your modem

when using router set your NIC to 100 Mbps full duplex

when using direct connection to modem, use 10 Mbps half duplex

Van,

No router, no firewall when testing and I shutdown what is not needed. I run ad aware before. I am connected directly to what Timewarner is offering for a modem, only one model for Premium Service (AMBIT). Thanks again for your help!

Having the upload "57" 4 + times in a row , and being RR means thats the best your ever going to get. Being on the same connection, no matter where i test to i never exceed 44 kbs. Its always.....44kbs...

then force 10 Mbps half duplex on your NIC

quote from http://dslnuts.com/tips_tricks.shtml

"Windows 2000 or XP: to change to half-duplex:

* Open Control Panel.
* Double-click Network and Dial-up Connections.
* Identify the icon for your cable modem connection: usually Local Area Connection.
* Right-click that icon and select Properties.
* Under the ethernet adapter icon, click the button Configure.
* Click the tab Advanced to bring it to the front:
* In the Property box, the property name to be selected varies according to model of ethernet card. Examples are: Network Link Selection, Media Type, Connection Type, Duplex Mode, or any similarly-named property which can have Values looking like Auto-Negotiation, or 10BT, or 10BaseT.
* In the Value box, select a value which either (a) explicitly says half-duplex or semi-duplex, or (B) at least does not say full-duplex [e.g. 10BaseT on its own is OK]. If there is a choice between 10 and 100 with half-duplex, choose the 10. Do not choose 10Base5, 10Base2, or AUI.
* Click OK to exit the Adapter settings.
* Click OK to exit the Connection properties. "
