I love it, and I know some people behind routers(with most new games), have some connection related problems....(My old router couldn't forward enough ports for it, so I had to be in DMZ for games to work right).

Myself pc...I'm in the stone ages, and don't have an x-box...

I also picked up the Special Forces expansion pack...Haven't played it much, but there are some good add-ons..

Right now I just have my pc in the DMZ...I haven't gone through this new router yet..I believe this one can open all them...The other router wouldn't allow you to forward them all(Found a few webpages confirming this http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DI-604/Battlefield_2.htm )..

My game worked ok, but my voip would drop out alot..Now while in the DMZ, I have no problems...I just keep my pc clean and firewall up and running tight until I get port forwarding done in new router..

Manual says the following ports need to be opened:
UDP 27900
UDP 29900
TCP 80
TCP 29900-01
UDP 27900-01
TCP 28910
TCP 4711
UDP 55123-25
UDP 1500-4999
UDP 16567

Some are for just for server...The only real problem I ran into was the VOIP, which I have no problems with while pc is in DMZ..

Guess I'm stuck in the DMZ...kinda ironic to play BF2 I have to be in the Demilitarized Zone...

It says this:
Alternatively you can try switching the router to bridged mode. You will need to contact your ISP to switch to bridged mode, so they can make the required changed on their end.

Should I even bother(or is it even possible), or just keep my pc in the DMZ?

Yeah BF2 is demanding,... i just use DMZ, which you reccomended me too (thanks btw)

dmz works great

although my router is out in the open in dmz, a firewall works... even though for some reason when i play BF2 when using my firewall it freezes.. i allowed BF2 through firewall and everything .. but oh well.. i just turn it off... id rather take the chance of being unprotected.. than not be able to play BF2  Laughing
