went back to my D-Link 604 4 Port Router{updated firmware to work with ps2/x-box online} after the network everywhere wired router i had flaked out after 5 months of use{$40 bucks wasted on that}

the d-link has been fine,but it seems for an odd reason it will just reset itself sometimes for no reason,meanwhile after that i check to see if the settings that i have are still in it and they are. i'm guessing there is dirt in the A/C plug.

but other then that,it's a good router for beginnings and works well with Azuerus{unlike the network everything,which wouldn't allow the port Azuerus needed to work even though it was opened i would still get an error from Azuerus saying the port is block}

good buy for $20 bucks.using the onboard nic{MSI Delta2 LSR NForce2}

I thought I had tried them all, routers that is, until tonight. I went to compusa and picked up the Zyxel p-334wt 802.11g 125Mbps router. So far I have had great coverage and speed throughout my home and the features of it are amazing. When I first connected to the router I was blown away by the gui and all the configurations I could make. I definitely rate this router over any other that I have ever used. I highly recommend this to anyone in need of a great wireless router, even if you don't need wireless all the features you get is worth it. Oh yea my favorite feature of all, the price, its only 69.99 no rebates or anything just 70 bucks and you get a sweet home network setup.

I want that!

I have...

D-Link 624

From Verizon w/ their firmware on it.

Good things-
-Fast...So far all other routers I have tried have crashed with the Fios 30/5...
-Reliable..No major problems..No crashes..
-Relatively easy to configure..

Bad Things-
-Will not allow enough ports to be forwarded for certain games, and requires you to be in the DMZ to function correctly(this is reason I would like to change it out)
-DMZ  works on IP and not mac address...

Belkin Wireless Router (F5D72304)
•802.11g technology
•Up to 54Mbps in turbo mode
•Built-in 4-port switch
•Firewall security
•Easy-install wizard
•Range up to 1800'
I got the from circuitcity for $39.99 I got them to match the price from Best Buy.
I have it connected to my cable modem and from the router I have my desktop pc connected via cat5 and a WPA network set up for my Inspiron 9300. the router is great it was easy to set up. I have had it for about three weeks now and it is always on and have never had a single issue with it. I also have used Linksys, D-Link, and Netgear routers and switches and this one has the nicest interface and is the easiest to set up.

Revision: 1.24.06
This router started acting up and droping wlan after 1month of use I tried a number of fixes to no avail. finally called Belkin 30-45min wait just to talk to tech support and finally after 3 calls they replaced it, but sent me an inferior monopole wireless router of lesser value and have dropped connections and miscommunication with RCA Modem also. I finally bought a linksys WRT54GX2 Seems good so far I will leave a full review after a month or so.

the linksys router crapped out more than the belkin (dropping connection 3 times a day. I just think wireless sucks. Back to the old cat5 cable . . . Cant wait till I get a house and move out of this apartment so I can lay cat5 or even better lay a giga-network through-out the house.

Right now I have an USR 8054 which seems to wig out if I transfer really big files across my network, but the wireless works great with the latest firmware. And I ussually need to restart it about once a week or I cannot see my networked comps. I am getting a netgear for free through work so I am gonna see if it is any better

That could be MS's fault.. windows network seems to pick and choose when it wants to work.. and that is about 40% of the time.

I own a westell a720n(got it for free from Verizon)  This modem/ router is a peice of crap!!!!  Its not wonder that verizon gives it away for free.  The wirless router disconnects about every 3 hours or so.  O and i also payed 50 bux for a wireless adapter,  and wow it was a waste of money.  It also disconnects often and when it does disconect my whole computer freezes.  STAY AWAY FROM WESTELL

I just picked up a 4 port Network Everywhere Linksys router. On close out at Wally World for $29.00. Seems to do real well, and VERY easy to setup. I am not "in the know" on whats the best out there, but it works for me! I only have one machine using it and have it setup as a Gateway. I can configure it as either a Router or Gateway. Am I doing it right?

Thanks,

yeah, I have the same one.  cost $150 but no problems, like needing to restart or anything.  also nice web configuration.

if you ever looked inside, you can see a heat sink.  pretty fancy
