My downloading speed has dropped to about 657 Kbps this afternoon. Sad  Normally, the speed is around 4000 Kbps, which is the advertised speed for my service.

It happens every so often.  I hope you called tech support if it lasted more than an hour or two.

No, I didn't report the speed drop to Adelphia.  My past experiences with support personnel have been dismal.  So, I didn't think calling support would do any good.

Anyhow, the speed is back up to 3100 Kbps now. Smile  Hopefully, the speed will get back to normal (about 4000 Kbps) before I need to use the Internet heavily.

Even if you don't think calling tech support will help, it can.  In this past I've talked to my share of know-nothings, however your calls do go on record.  A good tech will look into your call history, and if they see you've made a good number of complaints in a short time (along with currently seeing problems) then they will send a truck out or bump you up to level 2/engineering.
