Go up in small increments and each time test it out in a game or someother graphically demanding app to make sure you dont get any articfacts. You know you have gone to far if you get artifacts, so if you do then take it back down to the last speeds that worked.

Yea you should be able to get the core to 540, you want to download coolbits for this.
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=815
Its a reg file, open it and add it to your registry, restart, then right click desktop, properties, settings, advanced, then click on your card (6600) and find clock frequencies, this is where you can overclock it.

I thought you meant the core was 500 oops. Yea idk if you can get the core to 540, 400 is still pretty good and that other post the person might have had a 6600gt.

hahah good luck getting the core to 540 LOL - thats almost a 200% overclock buddy - think about it - either way, why would anyone want to overclock so much that you get artifacts - you know that artifacts are bad right ? lolz

i dont wanna intrude on ur business, but there is no point to increasing component performance if its not stable - that is not what overclocking is about

i wanna get it has high as possible while being stable, it was stable at 400 core, so obvivously that program is wrong.... will a card just blow out of no where if there is no artifacts.

it sure can - if you do not have sufficient cooling anything can happen - video cards overheat also ;)
