Hi everyone, Lately I have been joining the tweaking community and now am looking for help for my joke of a connection, check it out.

Connection is:: 378 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)
Download Speed is:: 46 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net (server1)
Test Time:: Thu Feb 09 2006 19:51:02 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time)
Bottom Line:: 7X faster than 56K 1MB download in 22.26 sec
Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 41.95 % of your hosts average (direcpc.com)

This is really horrible and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

What tweaks have you used? Or have you not started yet?

Those speeds may be typical peak hour speeds. BTW, DirecWay is having trouble on many satellites tonight...

Thanks Bird, really I've just been having fun with cablenut and messing with tips I get around here. Personally though my speeds have always been like this. Around here I have been seeing speeds over  mine and I have been wanting to go higher. Well, maybe once the satellites are back to full capacity I can achieve something better.

What browser are you testing in? Firefox tests a lot slower than IE...

Also, try to post a test in the morning between 6-9 AM tomorrow. That will give you an idea of the speeds you can get.

Also try second post on this page, but delete cookies and files before hitting because it takes you directly to test. See you soon! ;)
