I just the other day subscribed to boost thinking I’m going to get somewhere close to 30Mbps a sec range, and it does not seem to be that way.

Any help would be much appreciated thank you!

Do you have to register your cable modem again or something with them to reach the higher speeds meh......?
-----------------------

Bandwidthplace.com says its at 17 optimums which I do not trust says its almost at 30 and tesmy is as follows. :::.. Download Stats..:::

How far are you from your CO? Do the Analyzer test and post results:

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.
Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 65535

Note: TCP 1323 Options need to be enabled for RWIN over 2^16 (65535). Windows 9x might also need the MS Vtcp386 fix.
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of Cool
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
 64240 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your TCP Window limits you to: 2621.4 Kbps (327.675 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your TCP Window limits you to: 1048.56 Kbps (131.07 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 120 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)

Your comp has not been tweaked for ultra high speed broadband. Here is a link to what I have posted in another forum for tweaking ADSL2+ 24 Mbps. See if it can help you.

http://forums.[this.site.has.been.blocked.for.spamming]/showthread.php?t=193945

The conclusion of that post is that you must not be further away than 1.0 km from your CO to achieve such high speed.

 ;) glad it helped

i used an old setting made for optimum online 1000/10000 and changed some settings that alowed me to get fom about 16000 to what i have now.  also try to clean out your PC to get any spyware and viruses out then try to update your drivers for the nic card .  1 more thing is what is your pc's specs cause that may cause slower speeds with a slower pc.

Logitech Z-5300s

Using a linksys nic card im gonna try and update it and see if there is any diff in speeds, the nic card seems to be a bit faster then unboard and had less problems in the past hence the using it.

i remember when i didnt get the speed i wanted it was always my equiopment according to optimum but i was sure it wasnt that and we tested it like mad and came up with the NIC card itself which for some reason it got higher pings and some bad ping spikes but i got a new nic card and everything was great so sometimes it is our hardware that causes the problem so if you happen to have an extra NIC card around try it cause it might be better.

i think you and me are the only 2 on here with boost
