Im new at this and i dont really know how to tweak my connection i checked the stickies and that really didnt help me here are my stats

Connection is:: 1050 Kbps about 1.1 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB)
Download Speed is:: 128 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net
Test Time:: Tue Feb 14 20:45:51 EST 2006
Bottom Line:: 19X faster than 56K 1MB download in 8 sec
Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 41.52 % of your hosts average (bellsouth.net)

the upload diagnosis is fine but the download has never been above 50%, so please help

yeah i have this problem also. ive done multiple tweak programs including TCP Optimizer, CablueNut, and the Bellsouth one. Im getting about 1.14mb. Would it have to do with the distance from the provider cuz i thought i remember reading that somewhere.

yes if you have done that many tweaks and are unable to get it any faster, the it would be that you are too far from the CO to get any faster.

champyG have you tried running speed tests at a few differnet places? and if you did do you get the same results.

no i havent, ill try that in a sec. im downloading from utorrent right now, and while 157kB is only about 82% of my advertised speed, its nothing im really gonne worry about...especially considering we upgraded from a 256kb connection....(terrible i know. haha)

157kB/s is pertty good for BS dsl Utlra
