I can't understand why they put so many customers on this bird with the same transponder and most seen to have the same problems. I wonder how many they can actually put on one and retain performance.

8000 seems to be the going number per transponder.  The main problem is with equipment at the NOC not being able to handle all the traffic.  I know the feeling.  Im on AMC9 1370, which is the current hell hole transponder.  Speeds are dropping to 275Kbps at night now, and the slowdown lasts until 12:00am.

Okay....it's time to start fighting back.  First thing you do is all file BBB complaints.  Don't laugh.....the BBB does get action (I am a 5th time winner proof).  Also start posting your complaints everywhere they can be googled.  And make sure the Topic heading reads :  DirecWay Complaint - <and then whatever your text is)....very important because when someone does a google for DirecWay complaints your post is sure to be found.  Also make sure that you post these in NEWSGROUP as well because they seem to be googlized daily and will have a great impact quickly.   The more complaints you file the better.  Also considering filing FTC complaints.  Although the FTC will not act on an individual complaint they will act on numerous complaints.  Last but not least your state has some type of consumer regulatory agency...file with them....and to realy make their life suck find your local television station consumer advocate and get yourself on the news.....you would be amazed what that will do.  If all of you do this trust me......it will get immediate attention.

I've been really slow today (but I've been FAP'd) and my modem has restarted on its own about 7 times.

I wouldn't be surprised if DirecWay is having a lot of problems again... Idiots, doesn't it bother them that they have to do so much work on these things to get them to work right? Why don't they just fix the problem correctly rather than patching it, or just not get any new customers. I think they have enough already.

Two things amaze me with this company....

--I'm surprised any of our systems work at all anytime.....if you have dealt with the tech support a few times, it tends to make you wonder.

--If any other company sells all out problems Ford, Chevy, Cosco ....you name it the recalls are in full force, its all over the media front page as well. DirecWay seems to have continuous problems but never forced by the government, FCC, BBB to do anything in return for the customer at all. Look at DirecTv they have been paying some fines and settlements....as far as I am concerned DirecWay is terrible compared to DirecTv by all aspects.

And I thought DirecWay and Direct TV were one and the same. They both have options on this phone number. 1-866-825-4950.
My guess would be because they know they have us. You could cancel Direct TV and have equal options.

Try the 2992 file test, and make sure you clean out cookies and files including offline content(in internet options), before testing each time. Cached somehow.

That is closer to real, and still pretty good. Now Bird Fan would say to take two tests and post second within 10 minutes.

it's all about the $$$$$ folks. You can make any junk work if you have the customer count dway and dtv does. also Hughes the parent company is more concerned with tv at the moment, they want to get HD rollin hard before they fix any internet related issues. Maybe if we b*&$ch long enough they will do something about it. It all boils down to better equipment that we all desperately need, both on our end and Hughes part....Ahmen brothers and sisters....

believe it or not DirecWay and Directv are unrelated now. http://www.hughesnet.com/HUGHES/Doc/0/KSLHIN9I94N41E0JKTDVOUF86F/11-10-05_SkyTerra_to_Acquire_Remaining_50_Percent_of_HNS_from_DIRECTV.htm
You will also begin to notice the phasing out of the name DirecWay. Dtv (I suspect) wanted more money to be able to use the name DirecWay, So Skyterra said HughesNet it is. Ive heard that that is going to be the new domain for new 7000 e-mail addresses and marketing has already began to get the name out.http://www.hns.com/HUGHES/Doc/0/3L8QF906J0E4B29GPUD1F6S5A4/03-27-06_Hughes_Unveils_New_Comprehensive_Service_Brand.htm
