How to overclock if not available from BIOS
«
on:

My BIOS is phoenix award bios v6.00PG. There is no option to overclock. Is there any program to overclock your CPU from the desktop as ATI tools does, or any other way to overclock?

So there is no option to change the fsb in the bios? There programs that do this in windows, like cpufsb.

MttFrog13 ~ Your Phoenix Award Bios should have an
Advanced Chipset Features
,
Load High Performance Defaults
and
Frequency/Voltage Control
sections, unless your MB doesn't support it.
Have you updated your Bios?
What board do you have?

My bios does not have the frequency/voltage control. This is not the first time i have searched for an update, but i still have not found one. I will continue to look for an update before i try software. Also, my motherboard is a msi ms-6577. My computer is premade, so could this be the problem. My computer is a hp pavillion 743c.

msi ms-6577 doesn't show up on the comparison chart
http://www.msi.com.tw/html/products/mainboard/mb_htm/mb_comparison.htm
What's your processor?
Download Live Update 3
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_liveupdate.php
and see if it can help.

Most pre-built (hp, gateway, etc. systems don't have overclocking options in BIOS.

build it yourself...and get an AMD, you'll be happier in the long run lol....
i did, as i mentioned though, get my old HP Pavilion 8575C to everclock about 60 MHz, i think, through windows, by using CPUFSB....and it was (obviously) a premade computer
though i haven't oc'd my p D yet, lol....so, we'll see what i can do, and maybe i'll report back if i can get anywhere
