Sophos who first first uncovered it, is attacking the peer-to-peer community by deleting all MP3, AVI, MPEG, WMV, GIF, ZIP and video files it finds in P2P directories.
"The Erazer Trojan is a vigilante worthy of a Charles Bronson movie, taking the law into its own hands. However, it's perfectly possible for the Trojan to aim poorly and wipe out innocent files too," commented Graham Cluley of Sophos.
hmmm, who might be the 'mysterious vigilante' writer of this "beneficial" mercenary worm.
It couldn't be the RIAA, MPAA, or various software companies (who have the only real tangible financial benefits to gain) "pulling a Sony", could it?
