If it worked before, and now it is not working, Try Unplug your Modem Reset it and Reboot your Computer. Sometimes the Modem looses the DNS address and has to reset.
Check in your Network Connections Folder to see if it is detecting a Connection or not. This can help you zero in on the exact problem.
If your Network Connections is Detecting a Connection but you still cannot connect using your Browser occassionally it's Modem Problem. Once I even had to call my Cable Company and have them Reset the Modem internally. Sometimes the Cable Companies set Security features that identify your exact Machine with that Modem, if the Modem is stolen or used on another Machine it will not work unless you call the Cable Company and tell them you want to use it with another Machine. Not all Cable Companies do this, but some do.
Go through the Set up Internet Connections as if you are doing it from the very beginning. Use the Internet Connections Wizzard. This sometimes can resolve the issues. Then Try Reboot again.
If you try all of this and it still doesn't work, Format Your Hard Drive and start over.
