3 Brits die each year testing if a 9v battery works on their tongue.
I test mine this way do you know why it killed them ?Like jolted their pacemaker or something.
Then I can test a sparkplug wire on a running engine .if you know what I mean.I have even occasionally grabbed someone & done this..That usually lights up their eyes.Maybe I should stop I would hate to kill someone just having fun.
Heres a good one .You can get a permit to carry a concealed handgun here in Texas. But then it's a violation for someone with this permit to carry the same gun strapped on where it can be seen.
This is not police officers.& being a second amendment advocate.I favor the right to bear arms regardless.I think without the concealed permit I could legally just strap one on.& wear it in public.I haven't tried. Then if a policeman hassled me for a permit I would show him my copy of the second amendment.
People against guns can say what they want but if all the American citizens on the planes that crashed on 911 had been armed what do you think would have happened?I'm betten on a pile of dead terrorists & no buildings crashed into.

But I am still sure the missed shots would have still taken the planes down.  Mr. Green
But your right, no buildings would have been involved.

Hi Cholla , re. the 9volt bat. and tounge test
------------------------------------------------------------------

Vicious voltage
By Dr Stephen Juan

Now, the explanation I have heard as to why this is, is that in certain freak cases, the battery can make an almost direct connection to the nervous system where the nerves are close to the surface and the skin is wet, thus ionising the nerves so that they will not work correctly. Result is death.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
guess it's best not to take a chance then , tester are cheap enough anyway ,
although I think there maybe a element of Internet myth about this  Laughing

the 40,000+ volts Shocked on modern ignition systems ,I guess the warning stickers on new European cars state, this can Kill , could be right, especially with a pacemaker ,

Another fear might be the nervous little old lady sitting next to you with the 9mm Glock in the airline seat next to you. Don't dare ask her any wrong questions that might set her off!  angry4

tommie;I'll take my chances with an armed granny. For the missed shots they would have allowed depressurization but all the pilot has to do is go to a lower altitude. This uses more fuel but the passengers would be confortable enough. If it was only a few holes the depressurization would take awhile.A stray bullet would have to take out a major hydraulic line to cause a problem.
I look at this as a deterrent meaning the terrorists probably wouldn't have tried if they knew most passengers were armmed.
The founding fathers were smart enough to realize the constable couldn't be everywhere protecting everyone 24/7.So the put in the amendment so we could be the constable & protect ourselves & sometimes others.
I used constable because police departments didn't exist.

Just a thought on this , now the crew are behind locked doors , how about fitting a system that released a sleeping gas into the passenger compartment , under control
of the crew ? who would have their own clean air environment , it was done in a  moscow theater , not very successfully though, but it is a large building , it wouldn't stop a suicide bomber, but would prevent a highjack ,
Personally I don't go much on panicking public  letting loose with hand guns, also would  give the hijackers the same advantage

Roco;I guess we agree on the nerve gas I think I posted the same thing somewhere.
On the public with guns.If you could carry one as freely as we (Americans) are supposed to have the right to by our Constitution .Then everyone would be used to using the gun & not likely to panic. On the hijackers If they were not American citizens they would not be allowed to carry guns into America.I guess that doesn't protect the rest of the world. But like in England hand guns are very restricted & an individual has little right to use or carry one unless I'm misinformed. Here we are supposed to have the right.
What gets me is this right has been stepped on by our government & they make restrictions that violates the Constitution.Like a diplomat here can have their own security armed & allowed to carry guns where they would stop me from doing this.& that's got to be wrong.
I guess I have an American attitude about this & futher a Texan attitude.
This is one of my favorite quotes"The history of firearms is the history of freedom"Think about how most of mankind was ruled before guns.

If the English public were allowed to Cary guns , guess I would not be leaving my newly fortified house  :whaa:, trouble is here most terrorists are British citizens ,
The Public view on guns here changed after 2 gunclub members  ran amok on killing sprees, Hungerford and Dunblane , no hand guns would have stopped them 2 ,
so no more gun clubs for us, I do some archery and the club filled up with ex gun club members, so I guess my biggest fear is getting a arrow in the back  Laughing
cant agree on the history of the gun, it only allowed those with, to rule the world,
us Brits found that out in America way back , if only the Mil had the guns, you guys would still be our Commonwealth cousins  Laughing Laughing Oh I just shot myself in the foot with this augment  Laughing

This is part of the history of firearms the British military had them.So you have to think further back. When only the wealthy & "royality"(probably shooting my foot there) had trained men proficient in using swords.etc probably some archery. But to use a firearmm allowed for much less profenciency. The common people began to take rights & fight .
Unfortunatly we have let the rich take back some of this control. Here in America someday we will get enough & revolt.
btw ;I don't currently have a bow but a freind of mine was really into archery. He moved some years ago.I learned to shoot a bow pretty well & really liked it.Personally I would rather shoot a non compound bow.A fairly short bow wit around a 40 pound pull. With the correct arrow this could be deadly.
Here's some deep thoughts on what I think is going to happen. The governments of the world want to disarm all non military citizens & take away all rights to own anyarms .World wide. The real agenda is a one world government.I have always foung the term incorrect that's the way it is usually put they mean a "One Government World" the goal is to make most of the people peons I think the Brit term migh be serfs. now That's HOT!!  ;)

Hey Cholla that was a bit deep, but thinking about it you are right IMO,
as John Lennon once said and caused a storm over it "you are all still Fu**ing peasants , yeah nothing changes, and he was right in my opinion,
I think the one world goverment has been the ambition of many over the years ,
as history shows, and some nearly made it , it's all a big power game ,
well the ulitimate game I guess, but the peon,s keep fighting back so far,

I have no enthusiasm of compound either, I had a 45Lb lonGBow and shot target ,
and was club champion, I got invited to a  field shoot v Target match and won both ,
had to watch my back carring the 2 trophy's  to the car   Laughing:
last year James my grandson took up archery and is doing OK , I got fired up with enthusiasm
and strung my long unused bow , on the first draw a limb broke, missing my head by inches,
I am now know by James as "big chief broken bow " Twisted Evil don't know where he gets his sense of humour from  Rolling Eyes

Roco ;I don't know where he gets his sense of humor from either.Good Indian name though & not just Chief but big Chief .I wish I knew how to translate it into Navajo or something.I,ve never broke a bow but I did see a woodshop teacher brake a new one he had just finished way back when I was in school.Sad thing really it was a beautiful piece of woodwork. But there must be more to it.He got to do this in front of a class of kids who laughed of course & I was one of those.

I was just remembering on a cold day, say -30 degrees and the wind whipping at like 10 mph. It does not get shaken dry afterwards.  Laughing
