For every Adelphia customer we now know that change is imminent. If your wondering who your future provider will be, I have a few links to assist you.

Time Warner Cable - http://www.twcusoon.com/

Comcast - http://files.cwa-union.org/ComcastWatch/ComcastTWAcquisitions.xls

***Note that the Comcast link is a .xls file, you will need Microsoft Excel to view***

My area is going to Time Warner Cable\Road Runner and here is what this areas homepage is gonna look like:

http://www.timewarnercable.com/WNY/?market=86&divhome=1

Right now me and others can only hope that TWC doesn't fudge with our current HSI packages.

Today i chatted with both adelphia and road runner tech guys trying to find out some more info on this whole deal.  Accoring to them once they finally get all the networks switched over they will notify us somehow on how to use the new service, which in my case is road runner (Buffalo NY).   However no one knows when this change will take place.  I read in the papers up to a year.  Which sucks.  I also asked about speeds and he said that i shoud be upgraded to the 7000/384 package from the 4000/384 what i have now.  Have to waid and see.

Well, Half,

According to Time Warner:

"Welcome San Diego and Desert Cities
customers to the Time Warner Cable family.

Please be patient while we are updating your site.  Check back on August 4th for more information."

As I write, it's August 7th, and no new information has been forthcoming from TW.

However, when I went to adelphia.com and entered my ZIP code, I was directed to the Time Warner web site with the above information.

When I tried to log into Adelphia's HSI Support, I received a message that I would be transferred to a non-secure site if I clicked "Yes".  After selecting "Yes", I was directed to the normal HSI Support page.  Subsequent attempts to log onto HSI didn't require a user name and password.  I kind of get the idea the Adelphia site isn't being maintained properly.  Anyway, I set up an online chat, and it appeared to work.  I disconnected before a service person entered the chat room.

Well, Half, it's August the 7th

Actually I am having serious lag issues navigating anywhere here in testmy.net. After I entered my password it took better than 40 seconds before I was logged in. Just navigating anywhere in here is like I am on dial-up, pages are loading slow and after I hit post to a response takes longer. I don't know why... ...any answers anyone???

Now I'm back to normal. Seems the problem was at my end and the solution was quite simple.

So are you sharing the answer ? ? Just in case!

First my problems were only here at testmy.net, browsing elsewhere wasn't a problem. So what I did was (I'm booted in XP Pro) open a command window and run: ipconfig /flushdns then ipconfig /release then power-down my Motorola SB5120 then power down my PC.

Now I have a dual-port ethernet card (NIC) and with both the modem\PC off I unplugged the the ethernet cord from port 1 and replugged into port 2. Leaving the modem off I then power-up the PC, now I power-up the modem (at the power surger) and wait for the modem to get into sync and since I use ZoneAlarm wait to be prompted by ZA that the program has detected new network addresses configure my settings and voila.

I have a new IP address and when I came back to testmy to navigate and retest...NO PROBLEMS.  Very Happy

TheHalf™

P.S. Most important, my favourite web pages outside testmy which are cbssportsline and ESPN now load like they should.

i don't know about you but I don't like giving up my 768 upload if that is the case. I have the 6000/768 package and all they offer is a 5 or an 8 and I tell what, i am not downgrading and paying the same price.
