Welcome to the forum mcbarker  wave Welcome!
I hear ya on the hang ups. You are truly a patient person. I am no match for you there. Although I thought I was pretty good at it.

I think at that point I would be screaming so loud the ISP president would have heard me !  evil6

Good luck.  icon_thumright

And next time you talk to someone get a employee number or something so you can say you got hung up on by ____!

Thanks for the support and sympathy guys.  Smile

I usually try to keep my cool when dealing with tech support. Having once worked as a customer service rep myself, I know bad it can get for them when the company they work for isn't fulfilling its promises. The Adelphia tech did say "Thanks for being patient... our systems are a little slow today", to which I replied (jokingly) "I guess your system must be on an Adelphia account too, huh?". From the tone of his grunt, I could tell that he wasn't amused.

That does suck....

I had Adelphia 6000/784 connection for the longest time for $57.95 a month but since Comcast came in there speeds are worst 4000/384 for the same price...That pisses me off and to get the 8000/784 connection I need to pay $67.95 a month..God damn it! I been spoiled with the 6Mbps connection with the high upload for so long I can't stand the slower speeds..Right now Im little piss that Adelphia was bought out. Even though there customer service suck I did get good connection speeds and rarely had to call them for problems.

Comcast finally changed me over to their server today. Speed is back up to 4Mbps, although they told me that I would be on their 6Mbps plan, so it's still slower than it should be, but at least I can live with this speed. I did discover that Comcast tech support isn't that great. The guy I spoke to was a bit snotty, and told me I should call my modem's manufacturer (Motorola SB5100 Surfboard) if I had a problem with Internet speed. He apparently isn't impressed by sites like testmy.net, but wouldn't give me the Comcast counterpart address. Oh well, life's sometimes a bitch, and he certainly was.

(sorry for the double post)

I have good news about my service..They said for the time being (3-5 days) the speed will be lower then what they should be while they transfer all the data needed. For $57.95 a month I will be getting 6000/784 with power boost which is 12000 download for anything over 10 megs until the file is done downloading...This makes me feel better

Just remember, for some people that is their speed. And some of them pay just as much if not more.  wink
