hi friends

today morning i ran a ewido antispyware online scan with my IE6.everything went off smoothly i.e., downloaded database ,ran the scan and found 3 hachtool cracks i just proceeded to "Remove Infections" and subsequently pressed ok in a dialog box which followed thinking that it will remove all my infections but after a few moments it returned saying "internet explorer encountered a problem and needs to close we are sorry for the inconvenience" dialog and also prompted me to send an error report to microsoft.
after sometime i tried the same with ewido antispyware micro-scanner (downloaded from their site) and it too did the same things(downloaded database, ran a scan and found the same 3 problems or infections) now too i clicked the same "remove infections button" and again it prompted me to press ok in the ensuing dialog box
i too did it and after a few moments it said the same :"ewido micre.exe encountered a problem and needs to close we are sorry for the inconvenience" and prompted me to send an error report to microsoft.

           what may be the problem????

(attached pics of ewido antispyware microscanner)

I would try installing the software.  Looks like the infection has a strong integration with your browser, and can't be removed without crashing it.  If you download and run the software, you do not need your browser running.

Here's the link for the download:  http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Did you try in safe mode with networking?
Also if you download it, don't forget to run it in safe mode there also.  Very Happy

One nice thing about on-line scanners is, they do not get corrupted.
The bad thing is you can not run them in safe mode without networking.

Very strange that the software version does not pick up the infections.  To answer your question:

will there any spyware in my system which overpowers the online scanner(ewido microscanner) while removing the infections???????

if yes what can i do ?????????????

....it is possible that there may be some infections that cannot be removed with the browser running, or maybe some startup items.  If this is the case, the online scan will not likely be effective.

Try these programs:

HijackThis
Ad-Aware

but there too after i clicked the "Remove Infection" button the whole window disappeared i.e.,the process is killed (to say literally)

If you like, you can post your logfiles in either of these:

http://hjt.networktechs.com/
http://hijackthis.de/

Since the other scans you've tried don't seem to pick up the infections, you may have to remove the files that the online scan finds manually.  You may also need to boot into safe mode to do this.  You have hidden the path of the infection (smartly), but I do not see it in the hijackthis log.  Have you run SpyBot?

Have you run any virus scans?
