Found some water behind the feedhorn cover so I changed it out with another 5+ year old ODU. Just waiting for the ripples to smooth out.

This is the first post for me.

One question - Where do I find the info to educate myself and work towards getting the speeds this forum group is achieving? I have a DW7000 with a Linksys G router also.

Welcome!

My DW7000 most of the time will only give me about 800 down and 100 up. We each usually have a different transponder, some are crowded so speeds will be very different depending on the transponder.

When I was doing beta testing with the same 7000 modem and dish I could get 2000 down and 600 up day and night. But that was uncapped and with a beta uncrowded transponder..

What happened to DW? The blue lights are off, I can rest now. Very Happy

First welcome to the forum Sharonkt  wave Welcome!

Now before you do this clean out your temp files. Top of your browser*Tools*Internet Options*Delete Files including Offline Content*OK*OK*test now.
Post a speed test with this. Just click on the link below and paste your speed back in here again..
http://www.testmy.net/dl-2992

I hate to say this but that speed is horrible. I would try cleaning it up first. And then we will work on tweaking it.

So read here and clean up the spyware etc... and get the comp it's routine clean up. A dirty comp cannot run fast. So do all of the stuff in this link, it will help.
"Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer"
http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257

Then try TCP Optimizer. But not until the rest is done first. It might only mess up the speed if not done in order.  Very Happy

Also what is your Signal strength. Should not matter, but with that speed I have to wonder.

Now I run on a 500/50 Dway so I know you can run much faster than that.
Now post the speed first and we will be able to see your progress, and go from there.  Very Happy
