I live in the northwestern area of San Diego County near the coast.  Yesterday, my Adelphia/Time-Warner service was down awhile.  This morning, I got an e-mail telling me I now have a Road Runner e-mail account and to convert from Adelphia to Road Runner.  I'll probably deal with that issue tomorrow.

The Internet service has been on and off all day so far.  I imagine the choppy service is due to things that must be done to allow Time-Warner to operate Adelphia's net -- or not.  My 4-Mbit service, which usually runs about 4.2 Mbits or so, has been running about 3.7 Mbits so far today.  I hope the lower speed is temporary and not the real thing.

I guess I'll be writing on the Time-Warner forum or whatever it's called from now on.  Hasta la vista everyone!

We're going to T.W.C.\R.R. here also and so far I have not had any downtime. I am on the 6Mbps\768Kbps package, it would be nice if TWC continues to roll out the 16Mbps\2Mbps tier that Adelphia was...oh, only time will tell.

Northwest Ohio is bought out as well.

I was on the 6/768 plan.

just had  downtime of an hour tonight, and my upload speeds suck. only 500, download is about the same, sometimes it sucks though.

don't know if we got dumped on another server or not, but too much more laggin and i'll go back to dial up,,,,,,,nah.

I work for the RR side of a MISP.  We have access to all the call center info for all of the other companies that utilize RR's help desk.  Our own subcribers were impacted slightly due to the high call volume caused by the switchover in Ohio and the problems they were having.

As for the offerings in your area, sorry but that is set by each cable company that uses the RR trade name.  No standards there but I wish you the best of luck...and yes...I did feel bad for ya....any time that situations like this that take place that affect any RR customer it's not a good thing.

Well thanks for caring.

So are you saying if I am stuck on this teir I am on now, I can maybe call and complain enough and they will do something about it lol.

I feel if I am paying 64.95 for an adelphia 6/768 service, and I am only getting 6/500, and RR's comparable service is 8/768 or something and it's the same price I am paying for the adelphia service, I should be bumped, or a credit should be made?  am i correct in my thinking?

Thanks man

My thinking is this....that over the next couple of months that alot is going to change for you that you can be sure of.  Normally when a cable company takes over another all sorts of good come out of it.  I do feel that what your paying is steep but then again I am comparing your prices to ours for the very same product. The conversion is in process now....shortly the marketing machine for your new cable company will kick in and get busy....look for lots of surprises around Christmas.  Cable companies love Christmas for the obvious reasons and they will probably make some offerings then that are pretty sweet.  Then again TW could make a liar out of me and do nothing at all....<<---I wouldnt bet on that though....

I live in Ohio and have noticed a decrease in internet speed. Downloads are slow, and all that. I was on the 6/768 bundle with Comcast, then they gave us 8mb down for free for some reason. Now that TWC has come its usually around 6 which makes me mad.

Give it some time....transition is always hard and esp with cable companies....out with the old...in with the new for a cable company is no easy job....no matter how much they prepare for it...things never go smooth.  I think in the end all of you will probably be pretty happy.

TWC gladly reduced my Adelphia 6/768 plan to a 4/384 plan for the same price.
