Cox/Sudden Link

Okay... I have been with Cox now for almost a year. I was litterally in love with my speeds. (coming from DirecWay...... anything was good. lol) I am on the 4/512 plan (Preferred Package). My speeds were ALWAYS consistent and I have never had a gripe or complaint. The last coupld of days I have noticed that my speeds have dropped drastically. I thought maybe it was just because they were switching to sudden link??? Okay so finally I get frustrated and I call customer support. Of course they had me reset the modem and reboot...ya know the same old stuff... which I had already done several times prior to calling. But anyway... after a few minutes on the phone with me, she said they had to send someone out.......?? what are they gonna do?? see if the modem is plugged in? lol I am very dissappointed in my Cox right now and I have done nothing but brag about them!!
Anyone else experience anything like this?

They will check your lines and hook up a meter to your modem line and probable say its good. Make him do speed test here and a few other speed sites. Let him know right off the bat you are not a dummy. Ask a lot of questions also. Here is a link for a lot of speed sites. I wish you luck.

I have done so many speed tests...... and have printed alot of the results as well. All the speed tests are coming back basically the same. Its just sickening. I want my 4Mbps back. they can keep the 0.5Mbps!! It sucks. lol

I have Insightbb. and they have been out here so much I know all of them by name. They have replaced everything here. The Field Supervisor put in a request to replace the line running from the main road to my house and thats 4 tenths of a mile. Believe me when I say "The squeaky wheel gets the grease" :

Jewelz37, PM me your old screen name and I will see about getting that reactivated for you, if you want.
Have you performed a traceroute? This ICMP test will indicate if there is a line, hardware, or network issue.
Also, make sure that your PC is free of spyware and virus infections. This may seem obvious, but try some online scans for both just to be sure.

OKay.... so the cable guy shows up. Tells me the problem is with the conversion to SuddenLink. Okay.. I guess I can buy that. But... he went ahead and reset my modem... he didn't like the fact that the cable from the modem to the wall was slide on and off (which is the cable Cox gave me. lol) so he replaced the cable with the screw on kind. okay so now the cable has been replaced, the modem reset... we came here and did the speed test.... Whoa!! I was happy.... Yippeeeee my speeds were back. We went to speakeasy as well..... same thing. YAY!! He leaves.... 5 minutes after he is gone... I came in here to test myself....... gone... back down to where I was last night!!! Oh I am soooooooo mad!!!!
FallowEarth... I do not know what a ICMP test is. LOL Sorry.
As for my other name.... I kinda like this one better.
) thanks the other was jewelz_tx
OKay..... so back to do yet another speed test. *UGH*
