well the day before yesterday, my testmy.net results said that i was dling at 7000 Kbps. But yesterday and today my internet has come to a screeching halt, sometimes not working at all, and when it is working its at like 6.26 percent of my ISP's average (Comcast, like i said). i just did a scan with Spyware Doctor and it found and cleared three infections, but that didn't help anything, so i'm kind of worried. It's also destroying my XBox live, i'm laggin 100% of the time, when im on other peoples' hosts, and when its my host everyone in the game is red barring. Any help or advice here? I'm pretty new to this whole scene so any steps you recommend would have to be explained in detail. Thanks Very Happy

No problem. If all else fails I would call Comcast.

If your x-box is lagging as well as your pc, I don't think it is spyware slowing you down.  More than likely, there are just a ton of people on your node at the moment.

Probably a lot of people christmas shopping online that normally would not be at their pc.

First, I would go to http://www.Comcast.net/help/. make sure you are signed in and then click the link towards the bottom that says "Check Network Health specific to your area". This will give you an indication as to whether or not maintenance is going on near you. If there isn't any work being done, power cycle your modem and then try again. Last, I would call Comcast help. Good luck.

Sounds like a possible packet loss problem.
Try pinging us here: ping www.testmy.net -n 30
Copy and paste results, please.
Also, what are your signal levels looking like?
Post those here if you can, also.
