if it is just a DOS attack your going to have to spend some money to get it to stop or just take it off line. And if your running it out of your house it can't be getting slammed that hard.

did you look at IP tables yet? Make it so that the server will only respond to certain IPs.. That should stop the ssh brute force attacks.  You can also use IP tables to kill DoS but you are going to have to watch the logs as most of the time they will restart using another IP address.

its a windows server running out of his house, no ssh.
