Gaming on Xplornet Wireless
«
on:
December 30, 2006, 06:19:31 PM »
Has anyone had any luck with gaming on xplornet, iv had a lot of trouble, i think the Recever/antena is blocking traffic. When i set a port to be open on my router im still told it is blocked. When you login to the Recever there are options to open ports and such but this requires an admin password witch xplornet will not give me.
Anyone else try gaming on xplornet?

It's just about impossible to do any on-line gaming on satellite because of the high latency which causes lag.

Welcome to the forum Axellion.
Was that a satelite or wireless connection? With satelite it is as falco said.

Thats what I thought, so the question is still open.
We need an ISP directory for regulars. So they can be PM'd more readily at times like these. Who's on wireless?

I think it is just a wireless question. I know there are a few, just don't come to mind. One of them used to be on DirecWay too. 4000 modem. He switced to wireless...thinking...___________________________. Went blank. We need a directory.
Ha Ha
, just-in-lay. He is on wireless. Maybe he will be on this weekend. Yep, I would check with him.

No. I have checked. T-1, dial-up, have no idea about the DSL, sat., or T-1 partial, ISDN (IDSL, whichever), so satelite until?? As far as I know.

Yeah, 128Kbps speeds. That crap cost too much, for very little performance. It is very old school stuff. Hardly anyone even messes with anymore. Here.
"Internet Access. ISDN provides high-speed, cost-effective digital access to the internet. At 128Kbps, a Basic Rate Interface (BRI) ISDN line is eight times faster than a 14.4Kbps modem, less expensive to use, and easier to maintain. And a Primary Rate Interface (PRI) provides even greater capacity. "
