It probably wants a nice electric blanket. And a comfort control mattress.
With silk sheets.

I thought I've read somewhere that there have been some problems with some of the sats lately, so it might not be a problem on your end at all. To be sure, I always wait a couple weeks for my problems to clear up (that's normally how long it takes for HugesNet) and if they don't then fix it.

"The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think its real because thats how powerfull our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills, and its very brightly coloured , and its very loud and its fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question - is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us. They say, 'Hey! Dont worry, dont be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride.'

Me personally, if it went degraded for more than an hour. I would be calling hughes. It would not be normal, so it would be considered broke by me.

Guaranteed laughter ..call even it ain't broke, give them a moment to look up "system status" first, then after you explain degraded to them....be prepared for them to tell you your modem lights should be blinking blue!
So by the time you might speak to somebody that could possibly answer you question a few days from now...the issue will be resolved at NOC or maybe at this point Hughes will replace the faulty equipment.
No need to get mad at them......just laugh at it, cause it really is a joke on us.
If your mission to search for intelligent life fails....Hughes hides the brains very well in "deep support", always file a claim with the BBB.

I know Hughesnet is growing and I'll bet there are a fair amount of subscribers that are quite as "tech savvy" as some of us. I feel lucky that I've had my rig for about 2 years now and I could not imagine if my mother or someone else in the family that has DSL or cable had to use a sat system. They would go nuts. Just an observation and combined rant I guess. But I do feel for the folks that don't understand all the quirks of the sat systems.

Yes I have a brother that is considering sat service as he lives too where there is no other choice....anyways he is already confused with installation details. He thinks the pole mount will be free in his situation, also does not understand a router or switch is needed to hook up his daughters PC. Regardless of which provider he chooses it will be front row tickets for me! Its like talking to a stump.
I feel sorry for the installer....he is in for a big treat.

I know what you mean. It seems many with problems are having problems just running and maintaining their PC"s let alone networking and then add sat on top of that. My cousin's wife called me (our installer told here they only do the sat and no networking so I was recommended, thanks) so I went over. A good machine sitting, hardly boots, full of spyware and other things bogging it down so the sat won't even work and now a brand new laptop running XP given to her. I said I'll show you what to do to prevent this from happening to the laptop. Her reply "I don't want to know nothing, just turn it on and do what I need to", a nurse mind you.
I'm glad she retired. I looked at her and said "there is no way I can help you" so I picked up the router and my other things and said "see ya".

Just have her drop it off once a week for $50 and clean it for her.
Don't you need the money?

At worst you might have to reformat it.

Just a quick note about "Degraded". I recently had a similar problem with my 7000s. The level 2 tech told me that the 7000s can cause problems with the radio transmitter, mine is 1 watt. It can make it fail or just cause it to act flakey. The tech got me out of the woods by having me do "Force Ranging". It ran for about an hour before I saw any success. Now I'm back flying better than ever.
