If you want a 100% thing replace the whole pc, that would guarantee you have no viruses. I have done alot of pc repairs and use a cd like that quiet a bit as alot of people either do not have an antivirus, an out of date antivirus, or norton, which is about as usefull as a bag of ice in a blizzard. There are many valid points but root kits although they are typically irritating to remove they can be removed, boot sector viruses can be removed. The question is typically at what point are you going to spend more time and effort to remove the virus, and at what point do you say, this is just taking way to long and nuke the bastard.  Razz

If you got a virus on your PC every other day, then you got bigger problems, because either you are an idot that likes to open attachments from unknow people, or is really addicted to porn.
OR...don't put anything really important on the PC you use for the porn, then you can do whatever you want. Let it in, no biggie.  evil6 I can reformat my kids comp in 20 minutes or less.  grin Theres not much on it. Just a few kids games.

And the important stuff stays safe.  wink

NO, Just referring to it does not have to take long to clean one out. NOt at all. And prefer no reference to it. Yes my mistake on that one.

But a second computer can be picked up cheap for what I referred to. My kids's is an old XP, and it has a single CD and does not take long to reformat. THAT was my only intention of the reference.

Yes, excellent instructions. Common sense will keep potential exposure to a minimum, be very careful with downloads and don't click on any images, especially avatars, you're not willing to take risk with. I would recommend AVG as a top flight antiviral. One must run powerful security software and, most importantly, scan often. The sooner infection is discovered by you, after quarantine by your software presumably, the sooner you can decide on the appropriate response.

What a F&#K!!!

My computer just got infected with something like "hacked by godzilla"  tickedoff
though this time it says on the title bar of an open window jaymyka.wen9.com  tickedoff
ad the jay.exe file is causing this which i think the virus has an ability to replicate itself among removable devices..such as floppy and diskette... because my floppy drive's led is active when ever this virus will execute....

I don't even know where jay.exe file originate...

and i think this virus came from my laptop... grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For me the best antivirus is "common sense"

The programs are just there if something slips by..

And that is the work of NOD32!!  grin

thanks tommie, but i already nuked the bastard...
but i had to reformat my pc because traces of this worm is still visible in my hard disk..
even when i am successful at removing and preventing it from replicating again (by my own, stupid anti-viruses couldn't even detect the bastard jaymyka.wen9.com) WTF!
