How to: easily get rid of viruses

OK, so i been annoyed by viruses lately and not all the viruses can be always cleared by the anti-virus software. Here's what you do.
1. you scan the computer and whichever files arent deleted, write them down
2. open up tast manager, end all processes you can (including explorer.exe)
3. click file> New task > Browse and go to the directory where the virus files are, highlight the file and press the 'delete' key.
Enjoy.
I found this out myself, someone should pat me on the back

I just use Symantec Ghost. Get everything all set up the way you want with all the apps and everything and make the image. Since I keep all my data on storage drives (1,220GB worth, to be exact), if I have to dump image back to the drive, there's only two or three folders that I have to copy to a storage drive and then it takes 8 minutes to drop the image, and I'm back like nothing happened. That's how I take care of virii and spyware. I don't run AV/AS programs at all. I've got the trusty power of a hardware firewall and the fact that I only go to six websites on Windows--everything else is for Linux.

For me the best antivirus is "common sense"
The programs are just there if something slips by..
And that is the work of NOD32!!

Well, if you want "FUN" but don't want to get your computer infected by a virus...
Here is how...
If you're running Microsoft IE, then that's is good this tip is for you...
1. Install a McAfee site advisor...
2. Search for "FUN" site, watch carefully what the site advisor tells about you about the paticular site you are about to visit..
Enjoy, safe browsing and streaming...
hehehe

Thanks for sharing this, Kamil. I would also like to add that if the infected file will not be deleted, that you may need to boot into safe mode to remove it. This is the best way to ensure that there is no process or service interfering.
Another tip would be to make sure that your AV is scanning hidden files and folders. Some AV's have this as a preference setting within the program. With others, you may need to set Explorer to show hidden files and folders (Tools > Folder Options... > View (tab) > (under) Files and Folders > (under) Hidden Files and Folders > Show hidden files and folders).
3 common places for uncleanable viruses + fix:
Location
Fix
Temporary Files
run "Disk Cleanup" (in Programs > Accessories > System Tools)
run "
CCleaner"
System Restore
Disable System Restore (purges data)
Java Cache
Empty Java cache (Control Panel > Java Console)
