LCCU for Windows Vista and DW7000?
«

Upgraded to a new PC...everything is coming preloaded with Vista. Speeds sucked, even though I know it's just Hughes.net, I figured I'd try the LCCU file since the tech would tell me that anyway...as if it ever helped. File won't install on the Vista machine.

What ever has happened the LCCU is no longer recommended using especially for Vista. I think it may still work for older equipment and OS's but I have found it now not needed for XP and 2000. But only a little over a year ago for these when I was running a 4000 system and a ICS to run my network.
Are still having speed problems? Judging from one of you last posts your download was 1015 Kbps and your upload was 108 Kbps. That is right in for a DW7000 Pro system. I have gotten as high as in the 1700's (Kbps) for downloads and maybe just over 200 for an upload at best. The top according to Hughes is 1000 down and 200 up. Lately for some reason my upload top scores are down a little.
And their are no real speed tweaks for the self hosted systems other than making your PC perform at its best, like keep programs running at minimum and a daily run of spyware or adware Apps, I use 2 to 4. Also clear temporary internet files and then when done run a test. I usually only test if I notice something not working right.
I also read this

on work PC during the day. Will try and get to it tonight.
Thanks
If you have high speed at work and it's not Satellite you can't make a comparison for equality. They are totally different, total traveling distance and the size of the pipe. So if you still believe your having a problem post a couple of tests, not back to back but maybe on different days and we'll see if we can help, but it takes patience.

Well, may have my answer (unfortunately, no solution). I am working from Home today and got good speeds. Speeds I can live with...however, I am never home during the day and if it is always going to be jammed in the evening, then it does me no good. In the evenings when I am home the speeds are half this or less.

I would be happy with your speeds, compared to mine with the HN70000S. Corporate office says we should get between 500 and 700 with the consumer plan and 700 to 1000 with the Pro. Plan. Yes I have talked with someone from Corporate Office and they are unable to help. Upper level has closed my case and will no longer deal with any issue regarding my speed. The satellites are over loaded. Only new customers get advertised speeds and get on newer satellite. They could care less about the customers like me who have been with them for years. (since 02/00/2002)
Thanks for letting me vent.

Your connection is: 143 Kbps or 0.1 Mbps
You downloaded at: 17 kB/s
You are running: 3 times faster than 56K and can download 1 megabyte in 60.24 second(s)

Well we here at TMN care. My question now that you know how to call Hughes do you know the in's and out's of your system? Hughes will not do anything for you unless your scores are really low, or I guess if you hit the right one and use the right talk. Any idea of your signal strength or your ACP number? You still are on SatMex 5, Receive Frequency 970.You only real bad downloads are the ones in the 70's but you need to test more throughout the day than in spurts. Outdoor equipment tend to move over time and also the satellites are not perfectly stationary as to your location meaning they move around in a small space so your numbers may drop when out of focus and them can come back. Usually you can see this after a couple of years since it may be better at one time then off a little and back to good the same to me the following year. Just these little things make a difference.

> Advance support will not change my transponder or Freq. and have closed my case. Was told that these download speeds are good during peak hours. Also told me Hughes launched a new Bird 90 days ago and speed will get better. I am on the Pro Plan. Anyone have Hughes corporate office phone? If anyone has any suggestions please post.
Another thing is you have jumped in on others posts so help may not have come. A little hard to work on others problems in the same posting. So if your willing lets give it a shot just respond to my questions in a new Topic under

OK Buckeyes69 here's the deal, since Hughes only recognizes their tests let's use them plus easier to read taking less space. Make sure you run the necessary cleaning once a day while doing this and run a test every half hour (or hour) during your slow times, be waiting, this is the start.
