IMO, the best free learning guide on the web: http://www.w3schools.com/

I learned HTML and CSS almost exclusively from this site.  It is definitely a great start to learning any of the provided languages.

I especially like how you can play around with the code in the examples to see what does what.


its good for basic stuff

also good in the javascript section as well

They are also up to snuff on all new standards.

I usually get help from w3schools and friends and owe them a lot. I'm not good in hardware, software and any type of repairs but I can compete with HTML and PHP. But now I don't have spare time in studying more about HTML and PHP cause of occupied work.
