Hey, i just downloaded Steam. After that i paid for Counterstrike: Source. I down load it to my computer as it asked me to. Once complete, (cheering) i go to launch it. Bam... computer restarts ( i tired over and over repeats the same action...Shutting down ) ... i cant seem to find any help sites for this. and I'm stumped. Please any help would be very good  grin...

What are the specs on your computer, Source tends to reboot computers that it is not capable of running on.

Uhm, they are.... Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.70GHz 1.00GB of ram

According to steam this are the requirements

Here is a shot in the dark..See if you have installed security update "917422".(look under add/remove, with "show updates" checked)

If you have, look for the appropriate download here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924867

Grand Theft San Andreas did the same thing to my machine..Wouldn't start, just crashed upon starting...Installed the patch above, and the game runs fine.

They have a very short list of "known applications" that are affected, which GTA:SA is not included, but the patch worked for me.

Ah, fixed it, just need to run Steam diagnostic and found my drviers were out of date!!

if you have this problem be sure to look at this alot of people have been having this problem  Wink Thank you guys for your help  grin
