I always thought I was pretty good with the virus and nasty's. Have no clue how I got it. But I got a really bad one. I could NOT run hijack this. Every time I went to save a log file, hijack this would shut down.

I even made a new shortcut for hijack this and renamed it something else. Worked ok one time, then after that. No more. Thank goodness I had a ghost image of my drive. I just did a restore. Did all my scans in safe mode. Got just could not shake that little bugger. So heads up all. There is a new nasty running loose.

I have no idea the name of the virus. That would of made to much sense to take note of. (Im such a dork)

I use avg free. I also use spy sweeper and ad-aware. I also use commondo firewall. What really gets me. Latley I have been a good boy. I really have not downloaded any thing. Normally avg catches something if I do.

That bothers me. Not getting a nasty, but its ability to mess with hijack this. I so love that program. It rocks. But if a nasty is able to knock it out,we all be in some trouble. While I am not sure. I did not think of it I wonder??? Can hijack this be run from another partition and or another drive?? Can you just point hijack this to the drive you wanna check?? Thats a intresting question. Must go play with it and see. I will let ya all know if I had any luck.

And hey the only thing better than porn is free porn whoo hoooooo.

I would use Avast instead of AVG. It has a better detection rate. It is what I use and I haven't had a virus since.

It does? It must be pretty light then because Avast doesn't use much.

This is an age old debate on TMN. AVG is very successful at detection also. They each have their advantages. But yes it has been determined that AVG is lighter.  Very Happy

Actually for best results, pay for Kaspersky  wink
