I use the AGV combo too, but the antivirus is EXTREMELY slow. It takes like 3 hours to scan. When I first installed it, it took no more than like 45 minutes. What could be wrong?

You've got more stuff on your hard drive.

Probably because you have added so many files since then. Try ccleaner. It might clean up some of the trash.  Very Happy

it all depends on how many files are on your computer, and how big they are. If you have 200,000 files its going to take along time.

Yeah, I do have quite a but of stuff but I didn't think it was normal for it to take that long. I downloaded TuneUp Utilities 2007 just recently which is supposed to take unneeded files out and clean my registry, but my comp has been acting weird ever since I used that software. Now whenever I run an individual application everything runs fast and smooth, but if I start doing any multitasking everything starts slowing down dramatically and freezing up. Sorry I got off topic, and thanks for the replies.

I would say it is time to manually clean it out of unnecessary files, or get rid of the software.  Very Happy

ok, now this is just bull. I just finished running my whole AGV combo and tuneup utilities. I also got rid of my cookies and cache and took out a couple apps that I didn't need anymore. Then I tested my speed here and this is what I get.

:::::::::::::::::.. testmy.net test results ..:::::::::::::::::
Download Connection is:: 357 Kbps about 0.36 Mbps (tested with 386 kB)
Download Speed is:: 44 kB/s
Upload Connection is:: 196 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 386 kB)
Upload Speed is:: 24 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net (Server 1)
Test Time:: 2007/07/16 - 11:01pm
D-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-DVBI7N985
U-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-0ARHKX3TP
User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Media Center PC 3.1; MEGAUPLOAD 2.0)

I think it has something to do with that tuneup utilities app, everything (my comp and my internet)screws up and slows down as soon as I run the programs inside Tuneup. I have no idea know what to do now.

Also, why is [this.site.has.been.blocked.for.spamming] so unreliable? Sometimes I get fast results other times I get slow relults. testmy seems to be more consistent.

By the way, I have Comcast cable. Getting 44 Kbps is absolutely pathetic. I should be getting around 6Mbps.

EDIT- I just ran [this.site.has.been.blocked.for.spamming] again twice. first I get 0.3 Mbps, the second time I get 1.5 Mbps. Why so inconsistent?

Yeah, but I dont know what files are unnecessarry and I might mess up my whole comp again, I've done that before.

Edit- Anything else to try?  thanks in advance.
