maybe you've been tweakin too much... you know, tweakin gets addictive at the beginning but as tine goes, it will all boil down to your satisfaction. As i said, I never got over the 400 mark but im pretty happy with my speed right now. Its not all about the number...

20 Steps To Make SmartBro Faster
1. Download Cablenut
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/CableNut.shtml
2. Install CableNut, restart PC after installation.
3. Go to
http://www
.[this.site.has.been.blocked.for.spamming]/
4. Note your download, upload & latency values in Kbps.
5. Go to
http://www.j79zlr.com/cablenutXP2k.php
, don't forget to choose your connection carefully, then put your download, upload & latency values in the box provided.
6. Click "Compute Settings"
7. Click "CCS File Download", save the file to your desktop.
8. Go back to
http://www.j79zlr.com/cablenutXP2k.php
9. Click TCP/IP Analyzer
10. Know your TCP Receive Window (RWIN) values, write down the values for "scale factor of 4" and "scale factor of 2".
11. Now, download the latest version of CCleaner
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
12. Install CCleaner, Analyze and Run Cleaner to eliminate all unwanted and junk files in your HD.
13. Now open Command Prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns.
14. Exit Command Prompt.
15. Open the CableNut setting you saved on your desktop.
16. In the "DefaultReceiveWindow" box, change the current value to the value you wrote for "scale factor of 4"
17. In the "DefaultSendWindow" box, change the current value to the value you wrote for "scale factor of 2"
18. Important, see to it that the value for TCPMaxHalfOpen = 100, MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server = 10 and MaxConnectionsPerServer = 8 or 10
19. Click "Save to Registry", OK & Exit.
20. Restart PC
Your speed must be optimized now. Test your speed
http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php
This guide gave me almost twice the advertised smartbro speed!
<--- I find this ineffective and does not prove to speed up the smartbro internet speed. According to other forums, smartbro has upgraded some of its base stations in selected areas/cities with a capacity of 512 Kbps per subscriber.
If you can notice with your internet plan found at the smartbro portal, your account is changed from SMBRO to WR512, meaning upgraded already / ready for 512 Kbps capacity.
That's why our speed can now burst beyond 384 Kbps and even more than 512 Kbps.

guess it wont work out for everyone but 20 step should help out on those people starting out their first tweaks, gives them an idea to start off.
and agreed with jun101ph your smart transaction history would appear with the WR512 instead of SMBRO when your area is upgraded.

Will they upgrade all subscribers to 512 or selected areas only?

you are directly lambasting that post!
but you never have proven otherwise!
to tell you frankly jun101ph, only you have said that the 20 steps have been inefficient.
if you found other means to speed up then make a post of your own will you?
