Ah sorry for bad typing on the first post. I have Comcast internet, my regular speed was 8/768. I just downlaoded microsfot office 2007 trial and it started at 3.06 Mbps and ended at 2.60 Mbps, is that just powerboost? the download was 300 megabytes. If it was just powerboosted i thought that just lasted a few seconds. Also FIOS is only a few miles (less than 10) away,i dont know if that has anything to do with it.
EDIT: Oh and all last week my modem kept freezing itself.

Welcome to the forum! Hope you enjoy your stay here. What you are experiencing is Comcast's Boost. It might just now been implemented in your area. Welcome!

I've been getting this or better on their standard 6 meg plan for over a month

::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Download Connection is:: 7244 Kbps about 7.2 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB)
Download Speed is:: 884 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net/ (Main)
Test Time:: 2007/08/15 - 5:45am
Bottom Line:: 126X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 1.16 sec
Tested from a 12160 kB file and took 13.75 seconds to complete
Download Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 53.21 % faster than the average for host (mindspring.com)
D-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-QXUBKL46T
User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30)

My ISP is Earthlink, but provided by Comcast now that Time Warner is gone from the Houston area. And it's STILL $3 a month cheaper than Roadrunner or Comcast.  wink

Well, she's not an alien, but I have been occupied lately. I can't get on at work since January, because of this damn "Websense" blocker they have. Pisses me right off!

But I'll be on when I can. Good to see you guys are still here!  smitten   LOL

I uplaoded at 250 Kbps all day for a linux torrent and i downloaded hl2 with solid 2.0 MB the whole time. I think this is lasting longer than speedboost should. it sometimes goes up to 500 Kbps upload but then drops down to 250-300
