hey guys, i need help..

my pc has been infected with a gina_x86.dll trojan..

it is a log on trojan..

the problem is when avg removed this trojan, i coudn't log on back to my computer..

it says log-in gui gina_x86.dll is missing, contact your adminstrator..blah blah blah...

so i was left with no log on screen..

how do i fix this problem..

any ideas guys?!

please help....

I know that certian linksys wireless cards have a file called gtgina.dll that disables fast user switching but this is new to me. couple of questions
1. have you tried ctrl alt del 2 times to bring up the win 2k like logon screen?
2. you said avg deleted the file and now you cant logon? are you sure it wasnt a false positive?

no haven't tried pressing ctrl+alt+delete

i reformatted the pc actually i'm still wiping the disk haven't doin format yet (grr. i hate these trojans.. what a snoop)... tickedoff

yes avg did detect that and deleted it..
avg says its a psw blah blah trojan...

So can you go into safe mode?

If so run all your anti virus etc... in there.  Very Happy  Embarassed Just read, its too late. Maybe next time then.  Very Happy

I am using a laptop. when i type a letter the cursor  sometimes draws a under score sign and keeps beeping please help me how to solve this problem. because once it occurs i can not do any thing.
