I dont think there's one for this. So im going to start one up. Post what wireless isp you have (not EvDo, Edge or anything like that) , the plan, what you pay a month, and the distance you are from the tower.
My ISP: VRfuturenet,
Plan 2/512 Pay 63.00, and 12 miles from tower. With no tweaks

Welcome to the forum MatthewAlan!!! Who's your isp?
A local ISP ECS Internet Services.
I'm using a Motorola Canopy 2.4GHz system, and the tower is about 1/4 mile and we have direct line of site.
The installer said we had 100/100 signal.

Smartbro offers 384 Kbps only. and you have a speed quite unimaginable. if that is not because you have a faulty or tricky way of speed testing, is your OS the reason?

I moved and recently signed up for Sprint wireless for my home connection. I'm less than 2 miles from the tower and pay $59.99 a month for 5MB down. The options for my new rural location were very limited, dial-up
Wildblue/Hugesnet
or Sprint Wireless
I'm only 1.5 miles away from cable/DSL service which may as well be half way around the world.
I connect with a Sierrawireless Compass 597 through a Cradlepoint MB1000 router. Is this all I can expect with this type of connection?

Are you in the EVDO Coverage Area? Whats your signal strength? Your speeds are really low if your on the evdo network, its going to take some tweaking, but make shur you are in the evdo coverage area

I moved and recently signed up for Sprint wireless for my home connection. I'm less than 2 miles from the tower and pay $59.99 a month for 5MB down.
I connect with a Sierrawireless Compass 597 through a Cradlepoint MB1000 router. Is this all I can expect with this type of connection?
Download Connection is:: 106 Kbps about 0.11 Mbps (tested with 512 kB)

I think better can be done. What you need to remember is that most wireless connections may not preform best just setting them up. I had trouble at first and had to move my router card combo to a spot so it wasn't bouncing between 2 towers plus I use an outdoor antenna. There could be a number of reasons yours is slow and I found the signal meant the most.

I'm paying for EVDO service but I'm not in an EVDO area. Sprint dosen't offer a "Home" service just mobile service, so even though I don't own a laptop I'm paying for the ability to use their EVDO network.
Doing some research I've found that Centennial Wireless out of Fort Wayne Indiana offers GSM wireless in my area. Any opinion on wiether this would be a better connection than what I get from Sprint? They offer 236kbs down but if it's like any other service I can only plan on getting half of that consistantly.
