Well I finally broke down and went with an sat connection.

My setup is Win XP SP2

Netgear WGT624  router

Zone Alarm Pro

However now when I run an security test from either SG,  Shields Up or Symantec Security Check eeeekkk I have almost every port known to man open.

How can I get these buttoned up?

Who is your provider?  If it is Hughes, it is likely showing that the proxy at Hughes has every port open to man, because all traffic you send through Hughes goes through this proxy.

If im not mistaken, WildBlue uses the same setup...

Im not talking about the optimizer or web proxy.  Most likely, the ports are reading open at the WB NOC, not at your modem.
