I am a have not on the XBox, but..... If you have an encrypted wireless network, and you are the admin, then you should know the wep key. Go into your wireless router and look for it under wireless security. You'll need the admin password to access the router, unless the name is default password " admin ".

Do not put anything in the top box, type "admin " in the second box, if this is not it , and it's managed by someone in your house, ask them, they should know.

If they are the owner of the network, ask them to reset settings by pressing and holding the tiny button on the back  KEEP iN MIND , you will lose the encryption on all wireless networked systems  you have, and they will need re configured.

Problem is , he , nor anyone else knows the password to access the router.  In wireless configuration in XP it should show it.

As long as it is his router he can reset it using the button on the back and it will reset it to factory. Then it will be easy to find the default code. If he is trying to get on someone else's router nobody here can/will help him.

Sounds to me like your trying to connect to someone else's router.  Try asking the person your trying to steal internet access from.  And if its your router, somebody had to set the thing up, unless you had a professional do it.  Or should I say, "professional".

Well as long as you figured it out, share what you did so others with the same problem can have an answer to the question. wink

ok, it is more or less the standard to pass on the info when you learn something new , gives the rest of us some insight.   Nothing bad about that  : )

I think the main thing that caught peoples eye was that you made multiple threads for the same thing. We understand desperation for help but one thread is good. Please take no offense. People try to get help in doing illegal things all the time here and often try to disguise it. Glad you got it worked out. Dont be a stranger.  Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

all I know is, the wireless add-on for the 360 has gotten terrible reviews for now working half the time.
