maybe I am late on this , but Lavasofts Ad-Aware SE is no longer getting updates ,as Adaware 2007 is out , I found for the last 2 mothes the SE version woulden't update ,
no reason given, then I found this

"Ad-Aware 2007 & SE

"042.0000 is now available, new definition file for Ad-Aware 2007.
SE1R211 02.01.2008 is now available, new definition file for Ad-Aware SE Plus/Professional/Enterprise

(Definiton files for Ad-Aware SE Personal will no longer be updated.) "

Evil or Very Mad no warning given when trying to update ,

2007 maybe a better tool , but is more limited IMNO ,

I stopped using Ad-Aware SE awhile back and started using Spyware Terminator 2. It works in real time. Its also got 3 modes of scan. Here is the link to it and reviews by CNET .

I'm goning to have to try that, I haven't been to happy with the 2007 adware. Its slower and weird. Not easy for  me to get used to yet.

Kind of like when they changed to windows defender. It took me a while to get used to it.

be careful with spyware terminator. I used to have it before it killed my computer, I had to reinstall the OS after it falsely deleted a windows file.

Is the SE the paid version?  My free version updates fine...

Perhaps they have an update from 2007 to 2008 for the paid version, and that needs to be installed first before you can update the definitions  *shrug*
