*Edit*
I'm using XP
I use a router
My ISP is Cogeco cable
I've tried to plug it directly into the modem and my speeds are still bad.

I've checked out both these links
http://testmy.net/forum/t-2097
http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-3924.0

I want to try out Cablenut but don't want to mess up my computer or my internet connection. I guess I could really use some help with it.

Maybe there's a lot of cable subscribers on your area already...? Interference on the co-ax cable will also result in slow speeds or interference on the cable modem Smile

One thing to note, I've had 4 tech appointments made (2 didn't show or call) and the 2 that showed up, one said they didn't know and would come back (and never did) and the last one said it was probably an issue because they were upgrading analog to digital in this area and it might be a year. I called tech support and he said it sounds like the tech fed me a bunch of crap.

My roomate also has a DSL connection in this apartment, I've tried to connect to that and I don't seem to get much better speeds.. I guess it could be a computer issue. Sad

Any other ISP on your area? Where are you located by the way?

Southwestern Ontario, Canada.

My roomate is getting like 10Mbps on this ISP and 5 on the other one.  Evil or Very Mad

Think I'm headed out tomorrow to get a new PC, any last minute suggestions before I do that? Perhaps formatting.. but that's such a bitch. Sad

Probably you can do that but if you think the best thing to do is get a new rig then go for it. Smile

You mean on the same line? Or your roommate is on another line?

I tried being hte only one connected, and connecting through a router with him. He still gets godly speeds, (even better once he got a new pc)

Gonna go check out a few today. Smile
