Before the new server was installed, testmy.net routinely reported my computer's download speed to be roughly 6.7 to 7.0 Mbps.  Since the server's installation, my computer's download speeds are frequently reported to be much less than before.  However, Speakeasy and Speedtest continue to report speeds above 7 Mbps.  So, why is testmy.net frequently reporting speeds much lower than it did before the server change?

Yes!  In fact, the problem appears to be getting worse.

I don't even bother with the larger tests anymore as they are far too time consuming to run.

I don't trust the test at [this.site.has.been.blocked.for.spamming] because it shows almost twice my advertised speed, but dslreports, which has always been consistent for me, still shows between 4.5 & 5 megs to a busy server over 250 miles from me. The one here at TMN is supposed to be in my back yard. Well, in the same city, anyway.

What the hell is going on here??

I was under the impression that EV1 was a dial-up ISP in Houston. I never heard ads for anything else while they were in town, anyway.  *shrug*

But thanks for looking into it and making everyone happy again, Ca3le!  notworthy  occasion14
