Smart Bro choppy (jitter?)
«
on:
March 05, 2008, 08:00:40 AM »
greetings, i'm new to this forum
i've been experiencing a lot of jitter in my smart bro connection, speed is ok, i get a stable 30-40kB/s in downloading, speed tests average in about 300kb
maybe i'm a fortunate subsciber for getting my desired download speed.
but my problem is that the connection is choppy,
when playing in PLDT Play, latency replies are normally at 16 (which my brother using a bayantel dsl has a normal 125 latency)
but the connection is choppy, how can i improve this?
I get lag spikes all the time but for just a second or so,
how can i improve the performance of my smart bro, since online games are just my problem
is this related into the jitter in canopy?
thanks for your help!

How did you know you're getting high Jitter then?
AP = Access Point
If you can access your antenna it should be in Tools->AP Evaluation

That's the AP where you're connected. It's too far from your place.
Maybe you should call the company and ask if there are other BTS near your place and ask for rehoming.

how can i improve the performance of my smart bro, since online games are just my problem
same here.
no lag, but then for every 30 seconds or so(estimated constant), it spikes for 1-3 seconds, which greatly affects my online gaming..(dota and ragnarok)
my normal download speed is 20 Kbps
my isp is smartbro 999

actually smartbros connection is fairly okay now compared to the previous years.. as i see it, they seem to improve from time to time which is good, they are not that bad.. it just so happens that sometimes AP's are far and sometimes obstructed especially when you are in some place where high rise buildings are common...
conclusion, smartbro deserves appreciation sometimes
