Have your try to hook up to someone else router. This will at least tell you if it the router or the card that is having the problem.

Why don't you just set the router back to factory defaults? You must have changed something that you can't see outright.  I played w/ the dd wrt settings last night for some time, and I can see where someone could really mess things up.

dd wrt firmware on the wrt54g has more settings than my BEFSX41  does, and there's a bunch in there.

Try pushing and holding the light button on the upper left on the front of the unit. It will turn white and start blinking and then turn to yellow when it is done doing what it is doing. It sets up security for the wireless connection.

That is only if you have a linksys card installed on the machine, and the software that goes w/ it.

You said you brought a Linksys wireless PCI card, have you try it in a different PCI slot yet?  Are the PCI  driver working correctly.

Would you please give the total layout of your network, from the modem out to the machine that cannot connect wirelessly.

The reason I ask, is because you stated you can connect to the wireless router, that means most likely, that it is not within the card, it could be in the cabling, or , the unknown ( to me), before the wireless router, as if the router is not getting an IP, if you have another router before this one, and the DHCP server is not turned off on the second one , there will be a conflict.
