Yes they do because people worry about getting them instead of playing the game and as soon as they get them they go right to another game and the old game dies a slow death. I am so glad the PS3 doesn't have that crap !!!!!!!

ive never tried going after acheivements when i had a 360. why cant they just make a private game where it doesn't bother anyone else.
but i do like how the call of duty 4 does it. when you unlock challenges you are rewarded for it. I dont purposely try and do it but when i do unlock it i think of it more as a bonus. I hate when you prestige you lose everything, but it keeps the game challenging for everyone, but than people will think its cheating for doing that. I dont think it give you any advantage to the game.
