Germany likes to call itself the "Land of Ideas" - and over the centuries it has certainly had plenty of them. It was Germans who invented the aspirin, the airship, the printing press and the diesel engine.
But Germany has surely never produced anything quite as weird as the automated restaurant.

Hmmm, well I worked in Germany on automated library that had the same end result , way back in the 80s , the books were stored under ground in a air conditioned store ,the customer browsed on screen for the books they were interestred in , using his credit card for payment ,
and that was around 25 years ago ,

You should go to a higher class place if you are of that sort, eat the shoe leather, or starve, stop complaining, and why are you eating with your hands?

Well I figured if there were a chef, it was high class.

Because it looked stupid when I ate with my feet.

Japanese have had that for quite a while now. I've seen it in action and its pretty sophisticated. You order your food via a touch screen and it comes around on a conveyor belt that goes through the entire restaurant. You are also free to take anything else that is on the belt as well. All prices are I believe fixed/same for every item so its easy to calculate how much everything is gonna run and you get billed per table.
I don't dig that kinda system at all.....too automated

To tell the truth if that is what I wanted, I'd go for buffet style anyway. At least the server has a face.
