The UK's first "fibre town" could go online in the autumn, delivering speeds of about 100Mbps (megabits per second) to consumers' homes.
Fibre firm H2O provides super-fast broadband via the sewers and either Bournemouth, Northampton or Dundee will be offered the service first.

well that should stop the complaints  that my down load speed stinks, but IMO, it is the way to go ,
100Mbps , wow,  I get 4Mbps on Adsl , just above the national  average for the UK , and that sinks to 3Mbps during the hours of darknes ( street lighting )

Good for them. Most asian countries won't have that speed until 20 years from now (except japan and singapore).

LOL with about 250,000 towns in the UK , each taking about 6 months to cable up, .I bet jdbendijo gets 100Mbps before me , I won't see that sort of speed in my lifetime ,
it's taken 5 years to get up to 5Mbps , and I live in the capital city  Evil or Very Mad,
most of my rural friends are on 56K dial up ,
