Limewire connection issue
«
on:
April 20, 2008, 04:42:27 PM »
HI, I am not able to download media files from limewire even though it is uploading files at great rate.... I have forwarded the ports properly, connected to a "turbo charged network" and I am able to download perfectly well from the uTorrent client... But why am I not from gnutella network? Please help...

WOW!!! That is very odd. If not for the screenshot I would say you are firewalled but you dont appear to be. I would say one of two things is happening. Either you are not sharing or your ISP is throttling your bandwidth for Limewire. Limewire tracks leachers kinda like BT so if you are sharing no files and others are they will get priority with most uploaders clients.
If you have files shared then it may be your isp. Try setting up lime wire to use a different port than the original. Something like 99887. Then forward your ports again with the new port number. Some ISP will throttle bandwidth to common P2P ports and you may have some of that. Hope that helps. If not let us know.
BTW in my opinion Frostwire is a MUCH better client than Limewire. No spyware, totally free and still connects "turbo charged". If you are not paying for your premium version of Limewire then you downloaded a hacked version and that MAY (probably not) be your problem.
EDIT: Just looked at your screen grab again and apparently your sharing plenty. Try the new port.

What version your limewire is? Basic or Pro? If Basic, the speed is not doubtful. Just download the Pro version through torrent.

Download a hacked version of a P2P program that may be crawling with spyware?

f you're wise enough to read their comments, you'll be able to determine whether it's crap or not.

PinoyTweaker, you were right. I feel like a stupid now...
@ All, thanks for looking into the trouble, but the problem is resolved now. My download bandwidth setting was set at just 2.5 Kbps. Adjusted it to "unlimited" and now getting turbo charged speed.

well, if those comments were false ones, then your in deep sh*t. i could make a Limewire look-a-like anytime, and put some bogus stuff in there.
anyway,do you know you're advertising piracy?

Yes I know. Just calm down, we all know that most of us rely in torrent. A thread here about utorrent setup is an evidence.
I mean you're wise being the 50th person to download a torrent.

Good point. let other people try it out first.
still, advising someone to use pirated software is a little off though.

Hmm, it looks like the way I type makes people think I'm angry or something. Really, I'm calm. It's just the way you interpret me,i guess.

I said guys, as in more than one. In other words, nothing to get all fired up over. It was not directed at any particular person.
