2 things....

1.  Its not ONLY left wingers and soccer moms holding it up, but its also the fact that the oil compainies do not invest in their own infrastructure.  Supply of oil isn't driving prices up here, its lack of refineries.

2.  Unless this "stimulus" package creates jobs, its not going to boost the economy all that much.  And I don't think giving us money borrowed from China, or whereever it came from, is going to help us either.  Not that I don't appreciate the 600 bucks lol......

Speaking of taxes, why is it that every election, or at least the past 2 elections, I keep hearing about how the tax code is too complicated and we need to rewrite it, and yet, it hasn't been done yet?

1. the reason they haven't built a new refineries is because liberal, environmentalists won't let them build one. They won't let us build another nuclear power plant either.  but thats a different story.

2. jobs aren't a problem right now, people can find jobs. The problem is people don't make enough to off set inflation, to pay for things. We spend F#@&en $144 this morning on food for 2 adults and a baby, and it wasn't that much food.

As for taxes. They are going to tell you anything you want to hear, just to get your vote. once they get it office, there like I didn't say that. the IRS needs to go, they say it needs to go, but they don't make it go away.

Another thing I just saw and realized. Some people wouldn't be really needed these checks if they weren't tempted to buy stupid crap on tv. I just saw a commercial for HD sun classes. F#@&en HD sun glasses, they only cost 2 payments of 19.99 and make you see in HD  2funny 2funny

What a load of crap.

Find jobs where? McDonalds?  Service jobs?  Service jobs don't do S#!t for the economy.  We need manufacturing jobs, jobs that produce stuff.

Environmentalists and liberals are not the same thing.  There were plenty of conservatives that prevented an OLF (landing field) from being placed in eastern NC, because of the wildlife it endangered.

But either way, leftists, and rightists days are numbered.  True moderates are making strides in both parties.  John McCain is a good example of that.  Now the other side needs a good moderate to come along.

The IRS does need to go.  I think the only way we can do that is to eliminate the income tax, and move for a national sales tax.  That would eliminate a lot of crap, including loopholes.

McDonalds? Ok, those are starter jobs, the whole idea here is to get an education, so they can move on to a productive life, not sit around flippin burgers.

Manufacturing? The unions have ruined that for this country, demanding higher wages constantly, they milk it until no one can afford a car, then they strike because they feel they deserve more. What the hell sense does that make?

Keep in mind the definition of a true moderate is a follower, not a leader.

Well thats never good to happen as long as you have 95%+ kids finishing high school not being able to read a F#@&en ruler. Kids are F#@&en dumb these days, and as a person of this generation I am ashamed to be a member of it.

They have absolutely no skills. They don't want to work at all. And when they do get a job they think everything they are doing is right when they are wrong, yet they think the ones teaching it too them are wrong. Any money they get they piss away on stupid point less crap. They beat and kill each other over crap on F#@&en my space of all places. What happened too the good old days when you got in a fight because someone actually said something to your face and not over my space.

There is even a school district in georgia that is paying kids to go to school. Now that is really F#@&ed up.

The idea is to get kids a real education. Not a half assed the US is all bad one like they are teaching kids now. I worry all the time what school is going to be like when I send my daughter.

Paying the kids? Hell w/ that, they don't want to get an education? Fine, mandatory 4 years in the military, simple as that.

What's wrong w/ that? They would be taken away from what they think is real, and placed into an atmosphere that is real. I'm not saying that they should be put in the front lines, what I am saying is for the first two years, school, real school, not this fukin day care S#!t these punks have today where you do as you please to make a meaningless name for yourself among more looser deadbeats, that you never see again after the state gives up on you .

There's a major underground movement that is setting up laws just for those kids who choose to live a life like a slug. It's not publicized due to obvious reasons, but don't doubt it. I know this for a fact.

It wont be called a draft per say,  but more or less an option, those who do good, or just have trouble are exempt, but those who are just plain disruptive or considered incorrigible for one reason or another, will not be given a choice. The government is spending billions on this right now. The main issue right now are the guidelines for non interpretations. There will be no grey area.

Why are moderates supposed to be followers?  A moderate is supposed to be a person who doesn't subscribe to just one political theory, but has an open mind.

And you could argue back and forth all day long about the pros and cons of unions, but the simple fact is, without the union movement, we'd probably still be working for slum lords in poor rundown facilities.  You know, like the Chinese peasants do now....

I couldn't win that argument w/ you if I tried.

ok then , just look at the unions today, and the damage they have caused this economy, and will continue to. Unions are nothing more these days then  a few elite milking the blood and sweat earned moneys from those who actually work for a living.

Everything in life requires balance.  An action inevitably cause a reaction.  In the case of unions, they improved working conditions, pay, and the overall lifestyle of thousands of Americans.  However, left unchecked (unregulated), they have caused employers to send jobs oversees, where such regulations do not exhist.

Right, so they move the jobs to where the company can actually turn a profit.
