So...i quit my job today because my boss threatened to fire me because "for the past six months i have make believed that I work....and i have never accomplished anything in my life". So, after reaching the breaking point I quit...and give me credit, i've put up with this every day for 2 and a half years....

So, I tell my mom...she's cool with it, she understands, yet at the same time doesnt want me to move out...which i understand...

But her boyfriend on the other hand....i ended up getting my car taken back, and my HOUSE KEY taken away. so After i leave to look for new jobs tomorrow I have no house. Nowhere to stay....not even income...

and im sure that 1,000 wont go far at all... Neutral   

This is my dilemma, as im sure most dont care, but i would like some helpful hints.....

Any hints/tips to making it?

stay with friends til u get on ur feet or like i've been telling u...ur grparents r there for u...u know that...

let ur old boss find someone that'll work half as hard as u for the S#!t he paid u and the crap u had to take for it...u can and will do much better with that job behind u..

Exactly, It will suck, but you need to get away!  You have to . You are a good person and have a good head on your shoulders as well, you will find your own way. Just keep the faith, this is a test remember?  You will pass it !!! Where ever you have to go, just do it, it's summer , so you will be fine, don't eat bad food just to satisfy your hunger, eat apples, there cheap, no junk food !!!   Keep your body healthy , and your mind will follow.

There is nothing "off topic" about one of our longtime members needing advice of this magnitude. Good luck to you. I have been in your shoes before with some more piled on top. All I can say is never let anyone else take your HAPPINESS from you. You need nothing to be happy, dont give anyone that power.. EVER. You will do fine. Get you a new job ASAP and work hard for what you want. Best of luck to you.  Very Happy

yeh well....i need a job, but to look for a job means losing my house.... kinda F'ed up huh....  uglystupid2

And Im staying somewhere that i can stay for at least a week and a half..but after that im screwed unless i get hired..then i'll keep staying where i am...and help pay bills and stuff till i can save some back


btw, thnx all. I know this has nothing to do with technology...but damn, i dont know how to fix this myself. so Thanks for the help...

Walk into a place that needs help, ask politely for the manager and introduce yourself with confidence and with a firm handshake. Look him in the eye and tell him you WANT to work, you will work your ass off for him/her and that he will not be disappointed. Once you get hired work your ass off with a great attitude daily and you WILL move up, you WILL be rewarded.

What ever  you do do not get to proud to take any job that will benefit you. Meanning I have known some who thought a job was beneath them. Success means being willing to do what ever it takes to get ahead.  wink  I have even shoveled chicken S#!t for a buck before.

You are welcome and you are right, we all start somewhere. And the VAST majority of us start below the bottom rung and hate it. The ones who keep site of what they want and work hard with a good attitude are the ones that go from janitor to CEO, the ones who dont are who serves your burger at 10 at night at age 45. Yeah tommie, i'll work at mcdonalds and long john silvers .....to start off....walmart as the cart bitch.....(no offense meant to anyone)...

Whereever they take applications is where im applying..but i would also like to look into benefits such as medical and stuff also...  wink    i have thought into this S#!t.

benefits r good...cuz u'll lose alot more than a little off ur check if u get sick or need stitches or god forbid have an accident...benefits r good if u can get them...if u can't take what u can and keep looking for the one that will give them to ya

 I have been there, I won't bore you, but I have, I lost everything, and i mean I had what I wore, and 5 bucks ! Someone gave me 5 bucks. I didn't ask either.  I walked to a job site got another job, and off i went !

 You can too, if I can, thats for sure.

 EDIT, granted this was 16 + years ago, and I never forget where i was.

True story, if I were to ever hit the lotto, my dream job is being a "cart bitch". :haha: :haha: :haha: Except I am gonna be a "cart wrangler" I will work for free as long as I can wear a cowboy hat and chaps and a lasso. That would be so bomb ass. Listen to the ipod and wrangle carts. Ill wistle and say "YAH..YAH"... Yup Im that F#@&ed up.

Just a hint, guys get out of jail everyday with less than you have right now.  wink

You'll do fine. And if you get hungry, tell a small restraunt owner that you literally will wash dishes for food. It might even land you a job and more.

Also like mudman said, construction is a great place to look for now. The decent help is hard to find.

I never did that , but I did work at a motel 6 changin light bulbs and putting the lamps back n the wall after a party  2funny

Honestly man, you could go to a nursing home and work as a CNA. The work is hard as hell but they will certify you in about 2 weeks for free, they are desperate so you could start tomorrow and if your good you can get around 12 bucks an hour. Its a start but not a long term solution. I GUARANTEE you if you hit 3 nursing homes tomorrow you WILL leave with a job. Its not choice but it pays the bills.

This is crazy on a whole lot of levels.Take the car & a place to live; now that's really going to help you get an equal or better job.
Now if after a couple of months of you hadn't even looked for a new job & all you did was party then I might be for something like that.Not like this immediately.
Is there a reason he thinks you aren't going to look for & get another job?
Most of the time it would be the other way around.You have a job & have for a while & you are told you need to find your own place.

Now for your mom the one that should have made this decision without the boyfriend.She should kick him out or move herself depending who owns or leases the property.There could be some legal mess if they both do.If that is the case then probably all she has to do is stand up to him .I don't think there is any law that would keep her from allowing a guest to stay.I'm sure there are a lot of factors that I don't know about but from what I've read so far.Your mom needs to get her own place & let you live there at least till you get a job & find your own place if that's what needs to be done.
