i used a system restore and it was cool for a week but then froze again. i think it might be a hardware problem.

I would try a different video driver. W/o re reading the thread, seems i remember u saying u used omega drivers?

i recently downloaded a directx10 video driver. come to think of it, that's just about the same time the problem started.

On a side note, 6 svchosts isn't unusual, I have 6 now, and I'm clean as a whistle.  The random freezes could be caused but a lot things..

 Unless this one is not what you have, your card is not DX10 compatible. Running a DX10 driver would cause issues like you are having. or worse.

Well then that is one problem at least. Get rid of the DX10 stuff, you don't need it.

 Start here look for the latest driver.  These usually work very well.

 Is it the  "Pro "   ,  XT , or the Pro AGP ?

 Look for the ATI drivers here

well, i downloaded the drivers you gave me, and now the computer don't work lol.  i'm on my laptop now..

when i restarted my computer it said something like IDE drive failure, and then it kept trying to load some sort of NVIDIA thing and it kept failing.

it never got to windows, now the computer says

DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISC AND PRESS ENTER


omgwtfbbq! what do i dO?
